Our goal is to be one of the gateways for anyone aspiring in personal growth.

How the Turtle Club Began...

A friend of mine and I were riding our bikes in the hills of Berkeley, California. We stopped at one of the view points to rest and enjoy the view. One of the nearby neighbors walked down his driveway and we began talking with him about the Oakland hills fire and life in general. He told us his motto in life was to slow down and taper off from there. We had a good laugh.

I started to use this phrase in school with my students and other teachers and friends. I am a special education teacher working with emotionally disturbed high school students. Turtles are one of my totems. The motto was soon linked to turtles and the Turtle Club began. Any time we saw each other rushing across campus, or totally lost in the thousand of things we had to do each day, we would gently remind each other to slow down by just saying,"Turtle Club".

Fast forward a few years. A small group of friends formed a Mastermind Group. Our intention is to supporting each other in bringing forth our dreams. For the last few years I have been an informal mentor to beginning teachers. It was a natural step into wanting to provide the tools, (books, cds, etc) to anyone seeking personal growth. In any kind of awareness practice or training, the first step is to slow down, slow down enough to look at your life. Thus, the Turtle Club website was born.

My personal philosophy and goal is to live in each moment, to be alive in each moment, to be quiet enough to let my allurements bubble up, to have the courage to let my dreams drive my life, to lead a purposeful life, and to live connected to and as a part of the creativity that brings us all forth, no matter what you may name it.

My goal for this website is to provide the resources, tools, support and connections for anyone walking this path that this is sometime joyous and sometimes lonely, but always connected to our source.

I will be continually developing and updating the website. Thank you for your support.
